Artist's Comments

After reading Frances Hardinge's awesome novel "Fly By Night", my head was filled with so many vivid images, I just had to make an homage to them with this cover design! It features the main character, Mosca Mye and her pet goose, Saracen in the center with Eponymous Clent behind her and Lady Tamarind overlooking them all. The city of Mandalore is behind them with the Eastern Spire in the foreground, and off to the other side is one of the floating coffee houses, pulled by a kite. If you haven't read this story yet, I highly recommend it!

The main character in the book is about 13, but in actuality she is dealing with more adult matters and a lot of the content I believe would be lost on a reader that young. I would say it would be appreciated most by more mature readers, teens and young adults.
